Do the formulas with instructions give enough of an involvement to engage the students and to provide them enough experience to develop an understanding? I'm a constructivist and have been searching for ways to provide the students with insight.<p> An example of an attempt to accomplish this <a href="http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/gn/ex/reg.html">is: Estimation of Slope and Intercept at http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/gn/ex/reg.html</a><b> While this Learning Object (via simulation) was written with a college intro statistics course in mind - the formulas are the same as presented for this fifth grade class.<p> I'm wondering about teachers' experiences in teaching these important concepts via computational formulas, and asking for teachers' opinions on whether a Learning Object such as this would help in learning.<p> P.S.
