Using The Lorax to teach conservation

Dr. Seuss' 1971 book, The Lorax, has much to say about conservation. It is a great tool with all grades - yes, even your high school economics class will enjoy this great story. Read it aloud and begin discussions on deforestation, habitat destruction, greed, pollution, the law of supply and demand...the list goes on. Dust it off and let it impact this generation.

I agree and I am also from Northeast Ohio, so the reference to the Cuyahoga River burning is especially relevant. This link offers good resources to go along with the book.
