Charter School Governance
As educators and other planners begin the steps necessary to create a charter school, the focus may be mainly on the school's educational program and curriculum. It's important, also, to give thoughtful attention to the organizational and governance structure of the charter school. A growing number of charter school organizers have addressed the governance issues early in the planning process and found that creation of a legal entitly (i.e. non-profit organization) as the holder of the contract (i.e. charter) on behalf of the charter school provides many individual and collective benefits.
