Deadline nears for high school flight school grant applicants in IL

The flight school, operated out of Bolingbrook Clow International Airport, would provide all expenses associated with obtaining a private pilot license, according to the company.

Applicants will be required to file a completed application form and an essay. Ten finalists will be selected from the applicant pool, and final interviews will be conducted prior to selection of a grant winner on June 3.

Once the grant is awarded, the winner will have until Aug. 31 to complete training and take all appropriate tests to obtain a private pilot license.

To be eligible, applicant must turn 17 years of age by Aug. 31, pass an FAA medical exam and have transportation to and from Bolingbrook Clow Airport, where the training will take place.
