Board Certification

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) received a grant from the US Department of Education to provide partial financial support through the Candidate Subsidy Program for individuals interested in seeking National Board Certification.

Educators are invited to submit a 2011 Subsidy Grant Application to the Division of Teacher Education and Licensure no later than August 30, 2011. For additional information, visit www.nbpts.org and don't miss out on this exciting opportunity!

NBCT Recertification anyone?

I have been an NBCT since 2001 and now must begin to think about my recertification. Has anyone been through this? How does it compare to the initial certification. My state and district do not offer any incentives for maintaining the certification, so I'm not sure if I should proceed, especially as I only plan to teach 5-6 more years.
