  1. What Information We Collect
    Usage Information Automatically Collected. When you visit the Site, our servers automatically collect certain information on your usage of the Site, including the type of browser you are using, the type of system you are using, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address, and what web pages you visit on the Site ("Usage Data"), but they do not collect or retain personally identifiable information about any visitor or subscriber (such as names or addresses).     Information You Give Us. In order to use many features of the Site, we ask you to register. During such registration, we may ask you for certain personally identifiable information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, zip code, grade level taught, member name and password. We may also ask that you separately register or provide additional personally identifiable information to access certain specific products, services or tools or to participate in or access certain activities while visiting the Site. Further, if you communicate with us by e-mail or post Public Content (as defined below), we may collect and store such information.

    AEV uses the information it receives and collects, including personally identifiable information, for several purposes, such as for use in its internal business operations and planning, to understand more about users’ interests, to communicate with you, and to provide you with a better experience when visiting the Site by personalizing tools, content, services and e-mail messages. AEV also uses this information to create new services that AEV believes may be relevant and valuable to you. Occasionally, Affiliated Third Parties, through TeachAde and under TeachAde’s control, may make available to users of the Site, either through your use of the Site or through your e-mail address (as further specified below), newsletters, special offers and promotions or seek to provide you with access to products, services, tools or other activities. For example, while navigating within the Site, you may see a pop-up window, link or other announcement offering you newsletters, special offers and promotions or seeking to provide you with access to products, services, tools or other activities. Likewise, should you choose, as set forth in Section 8, you may receive communications from Affiliated Third Parties via email about special offers, or news about our Sites and advertisers that match your request(s). Should you elect to take advantage of such Affiliated Third Party offerings, the actual transaction may occur on the web site of the Affiliated Third Party, and any information, including financial and personally identifiable information, that you provide will be controlled by the privacy policy and/or terms of use of the Affiliated Third Party. It is important that you familiarize yourself with such policies before disclosing sensitive personal or financial information. Please be aware that you can elect to not take advantage of such Affiliated Third Party offerings or to opt out of receiving special offers or news about our Site or advertisers via email, as further addressed in Section 8 below.

    c. Improvement to the Site. We may also share data, but not personally identifiable information, with Affiliated Third Parties to help us improve our content, to provide you with goods or services, and to alert you to new products and special offers.

In such cases, AEV may provide authorship credit by publishing the author’s member name.

    e. Surveys and Polls.Occasionally, AEV and/or Affiliated Third Parties may conduct online surveys or polls on the Site. For example, while navigating within the Site, you may see a pop-up window or announcement offering you the optional opportunity of participating in such a survey or poll. These activities are entirely voluntary. If you do not wish to participate, simply click the "No, Thank You" or similar link and you will not see the window again. AEV will not use, and will not provide or make available to any Affiliated Third Party, your email address in order to announce or conduct an online survey or poll. If you elect to participate, you will be asked for your opinions on various issues, and occasionally you may be asked to provide demographic information such as your zip code, age or gender. By choosing to participate, you agree that any information you provide as a part of such survey or poll may be shared with Affiliated Third Parties, including market-research firms or the third parties with whom we are conducting the survey or poll, and the information collected will not be subject to the Privacy Policy, but instead will be used, stored and disclosed in the manner advised during such survey or poll, the terms and conditions of which shall supersede the Privacy Policy. Some survey answers may be added to your member portrait in order to better provide you with content, ads and offers that are appropriate for you.

    f. Sweepstakes and Contests. Occasionally, you may be offered the opportunity to participate in a sweepstakes or contest by AEV or an Affiliated Third Party under the direction of AEV while accessing the Site. Such opportunities will appear or be made available to you through a Site. For example, while navigating within the Site, you may see a pop-up window or announcement offering you the optional opportunity of participating in such a sweepstakes or contest. These activities are entirely voluntary. AEV will not use, and will not provide or make available to any Affiliated Third Party, your email address in order to announce or promote a sweepstakes or contest. In order to participate, you may be asked to provide your name, e-mail address, and mailing address, in order to notify you if you’ve won and to verify your identity. This information will be governed by the privacy policy linked from the contest rules, and may be shared with the Affiliated Third Party sponsoring such sweepstakes or contest. Please be aware that you can elect to not take advantage of such Affiliated Third Party offerings or to opt out of receiving special offers or news about our Site or advertisers via email, as further addressed in Section 8 below.

    g. Legal Request and Corporate Change.We may disclose any information about you, including personally identifiable information, to third parties if we feel such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect the legal rights or property or AEV, TeachAde users or third parties, or to prevent personal injury; (c) limit our potential legal liability; (d) enforce other policies that are part of the Site; (e) comply with an audit request; or (f) pay royalties or fees to third parties. We may also disclose such information to any third party as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with any merger or consolidation with such third party or the sale of assets, provided that such third party agrees to comply with the then-current Privacy Policy.

    h. Geographic Dissemination of Information.Information that you submit via our web site is stored on servers located in the United States. We may wish to export certain personal information to Affiliated Third Parties and to third party organizations located in countries outside the United States and the European Economic Area (EEA) in order to provide you with services and information. When you submit personal information to AEV through our Site, you understand and agree that this information may be transferred across national boundaries and may be stored and processed in another country which may not provide privacy protections similar to those your country provides.

  4. Security of Your Information
    The security of your personal information is of great importance to us. We store your information on limited access servers and we will provide you with the ability to transmit your personal information via secured and encrypted channels. In order to access certain features of the Site, you will be required to provide a user name and password. To protect the security of your account, you should not disclose your user name or password to any third party. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personally identifiable information and may be subject to legally binding action taken on your behalf under your account or user name. Therefore, if you lose your password or have any reason to believe that it may have become known to a third party, you should contact us at privacy@teachade.com and immediately change your password.

  5. Data Retention.
    AEV will retain your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and will remove it in the event that the purpose has been met, or in the case of your subscription to our email alert system, you advise us that you no longer wish to receive this service. Where personal information is held about people who are not yet registered but have taken parting in other AEV services, that information will be retained as long as is necessary to ensure that the service is running smoothly.

  6. User Ability to Access, Update and Correct Personal Information
    You may review and update the personally identifiable information that you provided to AEV as part of the registration process by clicking on the “My Account” icon on the left of your screen. We ask that you periodically review such information to keep it current and accurate.

  7. Children
    AEV does not encourage participation or visitation to the Site by children. Further, AEV does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13, PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION TO US WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF A PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

    We also employ cookie technology to help visitors and subscribers move through the Site more quickly. AEV is not responsible or liable for the content on these other web sites, and your use of these sites is subject to their own terms of use and privacy policies.   11. Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy
    We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy effective immediately upon posting a revised Privacy Policy on the Site.
