One of my basic financial planning principles is never pay more than you have to for something — that way, you can save any discount or price difference towards your financial goals. NEA Member Benefits is always trying to bring relevant and unique discounts to NEA members. So, if you are looking for additional ways to save on items you might already use, here are some online discount/savings resources specifically designed for you:
Travel: Through the Travel and Leisure channel of neamb.com you can find offers from a number of companies for car rental (Alamo, Enterprise or Hertz) and vacation discounts (Collette Vacations, Smithsonian Journeys or World Wide Country Tours).
Personal: Click & Save provide all kinds of discounts on everyday purchases, such as clothing, electronics, gifts and entertainment. And the NEA Bookstore has some great discounts on books, DVDs and music.
Classroom Rewards: As an NEA member, you get 250,000 points for FREE from uBoost, an online points system designed to recognize student accomplishments. The SmileMakers discount can be used for decorations, student rewards and school spirit. They also offer FREE holiday worksheets and puzzle downloads.
For more available discounts, check out the Everyday Living Channel on neamb.com. A penny saved… is a penny that can earn interest for your financial goals, if it’s invested well.

I’m not one to pass up a bargain when I find one. I have always found it difficult to find a bargain through NEA MB that I felt compelled to take advantage of. Mostly, the offers are ones that I’m just not interested in. There are also many of the MB partners who don’t offer the type of quality of product for which I’m looking. I always look to see what sort of bargain I can find through MB but I also check the availability of bargains through organizations to which I belong and on the Internet.
