I am a graduate student, and I am conducting research on the current climate of kindergarden, particularly in the area of developmental literacy. I need your help!!! If anyone presently teaching kindergarten could please take the time to answer the following questions as thoroughly as possible it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
Demographics
1. How long have you been teaching kindergarten?
2. Do you teach at public, private, charter, etc. / how would you describe your school/student demographics?
3. In what state do you teach?
Climate of Kindergarten
4. How would you describe the current climate of kindergarten?
5. Has / how has this climate changed in recent years?
6. Are students generally successful in this climate?
7. What if any academic expectations are placed on students?
Instruction
8. How is instruction determined in your classroom?
9. If a prescribed curriculum is in place, how/ does it meet the needs of students?
10. How would you describe your role in designing instruction?
Literacy
11. What are your literacy objectives by the close of the school year, and why do you find them important?
12. What practices are used to reach these objectives?
13. Are these objectives attainable for all students?
