Well, it’s 8:10pm on Monday, August 15th. There are only a few weeks left of summer and I knew that I was going to break down and step foot in my new classroom earlier then needed. I of course had a late start this morning, still being on vacation time, my internal clock yet needs to be reset for September.
As I walked in at 2:15pm, after killing some time catching up with the secretaries about summer vacation and my amazing trip to New York, I was thrown aback at what I saw. I felt as if I was transported to my first year teaching, all my stuff in boxes, randomly organized, too many tables, not enough trashcans and the last teacher’s belongings. I sighed, asking myself, where do I start?
Five hours, hair and nose full of dust, and an achy back later, I chose to call it a day.
